This weighted OM tuning fork vibrates at 136.1 Hz and it comes with a velveteen pouch.

Weighted tuning forks are excellent for working directly on the body.

According to the ancient wisdom tradition of Vedanta, OM is the primordial sound, the source sound of creation.

The Aitareya Brahmana of Rig Veda, in section 5.32, suggests that the three phonetic components of OM (pronounced AUM) correspond to the three stages of cosmic creation, and when it is toned, it celebrates the creative powers of the universe.

136.1 Hz is the standard frequency of the OM tuning fork, which is the frequency often used to tune the instruments for Indian temple music.

It is called "Sadja", or "Sa", and is the fundamental tone of the Sitar and Tambura.

The mid-OM tone is said to stimulate the Anahata (heart chakra), hence why is widely believed to be good for meditation and healing.

More about this product

This weighted OM tuning fork vibrates at 136.1 Hz and is designed for direct on-body use.

Weighted tuning forks produce a strong tactile vibration that travels efficiently through tissue and bone. The result is a grounded, steady sensation that supports physical relaxation and nervous system regulation.

Each fork comes with a protective velveteen pouch.

Within the Vedanta tradition, OM is regarded as the primordial sound — the source vibration of creation.

The Aitareya Brahmana of the Rig Veda describes the three phonetic components of OM, pronounced AUM, as corresponding to stages of cosmic creation. When toned, OM represents the unfolding and integration of creative forces.

136.1 Hz is the standard OM tuning fork frequency. It is traditionally associated with Indian classical and temple music, where it is known as “Sadja” or “Sa,” the foundational tone of instruments such as the sitar and tambura.

The mid OM tone is commonly associated with the Anahata, or heart centre, and is widely used in meditation and contemplative practices.

Compared to unweighted forks, a weighted OM fork:

  • Produces stronger physical vibration
  • Has a softer audible tone
  • Is designed for on-body application
  • Feels grounding rather than expansive
  • It is ideal when you want to work with OM in a way that is physically embodied rather than primarily heard.
  • Mid OM Weighted Tuning Fork – 136.1 Hz
  • Protective velveteen pouch

If you do not already have a tuning fork activator, you will need to purchase one separately.
